Dear community,
As you might already know, the European Green Planet Film Festival(EGPFF) is an International Short Film Festival focused on Environment, organized by four European schools from Portugal, Poland, Italy and Spain. The EGPFF will celebrate its 1st edition in May, 2021.
In our project, students make the rules! We want the Festival to be important and interesting for students, so we decided that the students should determine the festival rules. For that reason, students had a look at the rules of the festival and the rubric to evaluate the short films submitted by directors around the world. Then, we, teachers, prepared a questionnaire for students to answer. So students were able to decide on aspects of both documents: Rubric and Festival Rules. For instance, they decided the length of the short films and documentaries or the languages of the films.
These are the results of the rules:
This is the document we created for students to choose the final rubric.
Regarding the rubric, the students doubted whether they would evaluate the graphics, the music or the sound, but the final decision was:
- Topic, 2. Structure, 3. Appeal/Creativity, 4. Educational, 5. Hope/solutions.
What would you consider when deciding if a short film is good, bad or sublime?
All the best,
EGPFF
